And now we are in the month of October! I unfortunately did not get in a longer entry for last month, but I am going to start the month of October by doing a long entry off the get go!
First off, I have been at my current job for a year now. I hope to be at my current job for a bit longer. There has been a lot of changes here during this year of employment, with a new training person, and a promoted manager, as well as promoted leads to shift supervisors. Of course there are also new operators as well.
We received our senior pictures back from the photographer, and we are going to have a hard time picking one for the yearbook as well as the big one we will get developed for our wall, as all the pictures look great! Our middle son had fun taking the pictures and it shows! It also helps that he and the photographer seem to get along well for the pictures to come out the way they did. I’m sure whatever we choose vs whatever he chooses for pictures will be different. But this is just one stop on the road to graduation for him this school year.
We are having a tough time with the youngest and his grades and the eldest with full time work. Dad had to come up with some tough solutions for both: youngest gets no access to his phone if his grades stay low, and his assignments in certain subjects are printed out instead of using his computer (since that was becoming an issue again this year) and the eldest has to apply to at least 10 jobs a day until he gets full time work. Eldest did start looking into full time employment as I was getting ready for bed yesterday, and the youngest does have 2 A’s, but he also has 3 F’s at the moment. Dad gave the youngest 2 weeks to improve or no phone for the foreseeable future. I’m hoping this will make him realize this time that his actions have consequences, even when it seems like the other consequences given didn’t work.
Middle son has a full schedule with school, hockey, and fire cadets going on for him. He also wants to try to get a part time job to pay for things he might want during the school year, but we’ll see if that happens. We were able to get him a car, so he has been taking that to school and to his fire cadet meetings. For hockey practices, however, I have been taking him, because the freeway going to the practices is very hard to see on at night, and although he has been on freeways since getting his license, he really hasn’t experienced this freeway as a driver and how dark and potentially unsafe this freeway can be. So, I drive him to hockey practices and usually bring my Switch to catch up on my backlog of games (or play the new ones that release, like Echoes of Wisdom!).
Husband also has a lot on his plate. He decided to get a business license, and resellers permit to be able to sell his books as well as deciding to start another business selling cards, which I am a part of as well, called Sir Rat Collectibles. We are currently streaming on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. I am on Wednesdays, and he is on both Fridays and Sundays, as well as his normal writing stream on Wednesdays. I’ll leave links for both channels in this entry. Come in and stop by!
Besides hockey season going on, my two school age kids have clubs, D and D club, Smash club, and astronomy club. We have Halloween later on this month too. After this month, it starts the holiday season. The only other noteworthy thing this month is MIL’s birthday. And with that, I think I’m done with this entry. See you again soon!
