Christmas has come and gone, and now we are in the middle of January 2025. Crazy how much time flies! I had a good Christmas with my family, and I was at a card show with Sir Rat Collectibles, BGNY Breaks and undiisclosed1 this last weekend (Front Row Card Show). Now it is almost February and we have one hockey tournament this month and that month, and then his senior year of hockey is almost done. Well, he still has high school hockey, but it is not the same.
Now, of course, as I finish typing out this entry, the tournament came and went, the first semester came and went for my kids at school, and I am setting up my new desktop since I now have my husband’s old one since he got a new desktop PC. I am still getting used to all the cool new gadgets and gizmos that I now have: new mic, new keyboard, new mouse, and a new monitor too! I got spoiled like my husband did. I am hoping to be able to stream on my channel on Twitch swoon, once I get that all set up.
For the rest of this year, I hope to get my backlog of games trimmed down some. I did complete some of the ones of my old backlog list that I used to have on my old blog, but I need to go through it and see which ones I plan to continue with, and which ones that I should just get rid of and not bother with anymore. I also hope to watch my middle son graduate from high school (which I am sure will happen since his grades are awesome and I have already requested the time off for it) and have fun at his graduation party. I hope to start streaming on my own channel the first quarter of this year (aiming for February but I think it might be closer to March) and get my setup to a place where I can start streaming games (which might mean I wait for another monitor to do so, since it would be easier with more than one monitor. I currently only have the one). I hope to have the capture card set up for the Switch to start streaming Switch games as well as PC ones.
We (my husband and I) are also planning a trip to Japan sometime this year. We have already got the ball rolling by applying for passports so we can travel overseas. I have never left the country, so this will be a big deal trip. We both enjoy looking up places to go to in Japan, as well as shops, cafes, and the cuisine. My husband is learning the language and I hope to learn some more Japanese myself, since I know a little bit. I think my love of anime, which is becoming my husband’s love as well, has helped with that.
I’m sure I’ll have more goals that I want to accomplish in 2025 as the year goes by. I am already working on one of them, which is update this more regularly. Here’s hoping to many more blog entries in 2025 than in 2024!
